This is a riff off an Anne Burrell Recipe (see foodnetwork)
- 3 cups reserved juice from Steamed clams (see Robert Irvine Steamed clam recipe foodnetwork.com)
- 2 1/2 dozen steamed clams roughly chopped (set aside)
- 4 Thick slices of bacon cut into Lardon (or 6 regular)
- 1 large onion diced
- 2 T Olive Oil
- salt/pepper
- 1 1/2 lbs Yukon gold Potatoes cut into 1/2 dice
- 4 T flour
- 1 c Heavy Cream
- 2 c milk (2 %)
- 1/4 t thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 T butter

Cook grits: Add 4 parts cold water to 1 part grits and some salt
- 1 cup grits

- 2 lb shrimp, peeled, patted dry between paper towels
