A really good salt free seasoning from Rita Heikenfeld
- 3 tablespoons dried basil
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried marjoram
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried savory
- 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley, optional
Roasted Beet Salad

- INGREDIENTS
- 1 1 1 1/4 beets (3/4 pound without greens or 1 1/4 pound with), trimmed
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup sliced natural almonds
- 3 3 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1 1 tablespoon minced shallot
- 1 1 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 1 1/2 1/2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1 1 large Asian pear
- 3 3 3 cups mâche or baby arugula (3 ounces)
- to 425°F. to 425°F.
- 1 to 1 1/2 and roast in middle of oven until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Unwrap beets and cool.
- Stir together shallot, lemon juice, vinegar, sugar, salt, and oil from almonds in a large bowl.
- 1/4-inch-thick to to beets and halve large beets. Cut beets into 1/4-inch-thick slices and add to dressing, tossing to coat.
- Quarter and core pear and cut into julienne strips.
- Arrange beets on a platter and drizzle with any dressing remaining in bowl. Top with mâche, then pear. Sprinkle with almonds.
- 1 to be roasted and tossed with dressing 1 day ahead, then chilled and covered. (Keep toasted almonds, covered, at room temperature. Bring dressing to room temperature before using.)
15 Minute Beef Veggie Chili

This is a very healthy recipe that is quite tasty
- 2 lbs grass fed ground beef
- 1-2 onions, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 box organic beef broth (no yeast extract)
- 2 cans diced organic tomatoes with juice
- 1 bag spinach, kale or other hearty greens, stems removed
- 1 can unsweetened organic pumpkin (I used 2 cups puréed frozen pumpkin)
- 1 can (15 ounce) organic tomato sauce
- 1 can (6 ounce) organic tomato paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 T chili powder
- 1 t cumin
- 1/2 t cayenne
- 1/2 t cinnamon
- 1 oz dark chocolate (I used 1 T cocoa powder, I may omit this next time)

I have made these several times and they are easy and very good! I like to put them in the toaster if I am at home
- 1/4 cup coconut flour, To measure, stir coconut flour with a fork and then use the "dip and sweep" method to measure.
- 2 smallish-medium-sized carrots, about 2.5 oz/70 gr each
- 1/4 cup milk of choice or water
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: I like adding Real Salt Seasoning Salt or Herbamare seasoning salt or 1/2 tsp. Herbes de Provence

Chai Tea French Toast with Maple Cream

Make your own chai spice to add to the French toast batter and top with creamy maple syrup
- FRENCH TOAST:
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- Pinch ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 to 6 slices bread, a sturdier bread is best, challah or brioche is great
- Vegetable oil for the griddle
- MAPLE CREAM:
- 2 cups maple syrup, Grade A
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon canola oil

- 1 lb dry white beans, rinsed and picked over
- 4 cans chicken broth (14.5 ounce, total 50 ounces)
- 1 t chicken stock base
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 T oil
- 6-8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can diced green chiles (7 ounce)
- 4 t ground cumin
- 2 t dried oregano leaves
- 2 t cayenne pepper
- 4 cups cooked, diced chicken
