The original recipe makes 2 loaves but there is only 2 of us so one loaf is enough
- For the crust:
- 1 packages active dry yeast (1 1/4 tsp)
- 1 1/4 cups water (110F to 120 F)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp melted butter
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (can substitute 1/2 cup powdered milk)
- 1 Tbsp cornmeal
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon cold water
Pie - Lemon Chess Pie

- 5 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups plus 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest and 3 tablespoons juice from 1 lemon

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly

- 1/3 cup sugar (2 1/3 ounces)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons finely grated zest from 1 lemon
