Butter House Rolls

When dough is first mixed it will be soft and sticky
- 1 cake yeast or 1 package or 2 tablespoon of dry yeast.
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 well beaten eggs
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups flour
Pepper Jelly Recipe

This spicy-sweet jelly is colored for Christmas
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
- 7 medium green peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1-1/2 cups white vinegar
- 1-1/2 cups apple juice
- 1 package (1-3/4 ounces) powdered fruit pectin
- 1/2 teaspoon canning salt
- 5 cups sugar
- 8 About 8 drops green food coloring, optional
Old Fashioned Custard Pie

Classic custard pie, perfect plain, but awesome with some fresh berries and whipping cream!
- 1 unbaked pie shell (I use Marie Callendar's deep dish)
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 2-2/3 cups of milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Baked Cheese & Broccoli Patties

I like to substitute coconut or olive oil for a healthier version of these deliciously cheesy broccoli patties!
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 package (12 ounce) frozen broccoli, defrosted
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Pumpkin Pie with Gingersnap Crust

GINGERSNAP CRUST Ingredients: 8 oz
- 2 2 3- 3oz ripe bananas, 3- 3oz frozen spiced pumpkin cubes.
- SPICED PUMPKIN CUBES
- 1 1 1/2 (15 oz.) Pumpkin Puree 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Tuscan white bean soup

Preparation In a large stockpot, add all stock ingredients and cover with water
- For the stock:
- Chicken carcass, including neck and scraps
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 1 onion, quartered
- 5 sprigs parsley, including stems
- Small bunch of thyme
- 4 cloves smashed garlic
- 5 peppercorns
- 1 bay leaf
- For the soup:
- 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- 6 cloves garlic, smashed and chopped
- 6 cups stock
- 3/4 cup white wine
- Thigh or leg meat with the bone in
- 2 15-ounce cans cannellini beans
- 3 ounces of baby spinach
- 1/2 cup Parmesan
- 1/2 cup chopped parsle
HERMAN COFFEE CAKE

Mix the following ingredients at medium speed and pour into a 9x13 inch greased and floured pan
- On the day you get "Herman, " feed him:
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- Keep in refrigerator in a 2-quart covered bowl. Stir "Herman" each day. On the fifth day, feed "Herman" the above ingredients again and stir each day. On the tenth day, measure out 1 cup "Herman" for a friend, and 1 cup for yourself to start another cake
Root Beer Cookies

In a mixing bowl, cream butter & brown sugar
- Cookies:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp. root beer extract or concentrate (I found mine at the Bulk Barn. Check natural or specialty food stores.)
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- Frosting:
- 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. root beer extract or concentrate
- In a mixing bowl, combine all frosting ingredients. Beat until smooth.
- Frost cooled cookies.

Classic Shepherd's Pie

Preheat oven to 400ºF. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and pour in enough water to cover potatoes
- 2 large uncooked potato(es), peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup(s) fat-free sour cream
- 1 Tbsp reduced-calorie margarine
- 1/8 tsp table salt, or to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 cup(s) onion(s), chopped
- 2 medium carrot(s), diced
- 2 stalk(s) (medium) celery, diced
- 1 pound(s) uncooked ground turkey breast
- 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp rosemary, fresh, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp table salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cup(s) canned chicken broth, or beef broth
