Fun Time Butter Cookies

Grab the kiddos and have some family fun making these yummy butter cookies. Recipe includes some tasty variations you can try. These cookies come together in about 35 minutes and they serve a crowd so they are perfect for bake sales or food gifts. Fun Time Butter Cookies also make great treats at any birthday party celebration or any festive gathering.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
- 1 Land O Lakes® All-Natural Egg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- baking sprinkles and/or sugars of your choice

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 400°F.
Combine sugar, butter, and egg in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Add all remaining ingredients; beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sprinkles or sugar as desired. Place 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.
Variations:
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake as directed.
Prepare dough as directed above; stir in 1/2 cup milk chocolate toffee bits. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake as directed.
