Double-Drizzle Pecan Cookies

In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy
- CARAMEL DRIZZLE:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/4 cups chopped pecans, toasted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- CHOCOLATE DRIZZLE:
- 1 square (1 ounce) semisweet chocolate
- 1 tablespoon butter
Magleby's Copycat Dinner Rolls

Put 1 c. flour, yeast, gluten, sugar and salt into mixing bowl
- 2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
- 1/2 T. active dry yeast
- 1/2 T. vital wheat gluten
- 2 1/2 T. sugar
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 1/2 T. butter, room temp
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 3 T. mayonnaise
- 3 T. melted butter/margarine
- 6 T. Parmesan cheese (Real stuff)
- 1/4 t. garlic powder
- 2 t. dried parsley
- Shaped into 1.5 oz balls, put on Silpat baking sheet.
- Can use frozen store bought roll dough if desired.
ORANGE POUND CAKE FROM THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA

From Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa Family Style comes this variation on her ever-popular lemon pound cake
- 1/2 lb (2 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
- 4 extra-large eggs at room temperature
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup grated orange zest
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, divided
- 3/4 cup buttermilk at room temperature
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- TO GLAZE 1 LOAF (OPTIONAL)
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 1/2 tbs freshly squeezed orange juice

- 1 1/2 cup pureed strawberries
- 1/2 cup crushed vanilla Oreos
- 2 cups vanilla yogurt

1) Mix and knead all of the dough ingredients together until you've made a smooth, though somewhat sticky dough
- 3 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons potato flour or 1/3 cup dry potato flakes
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast, SAF Gold instant yeast preferred
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons soft or melted butter
- 3/4 cup to 7/8 cup lukewarm milk*
- Use the greater amount in the summer, the lesser amount in the winter, and somewhere in between in the spring and fall. Your goal is a soft, elastic dough.
- Topping
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted

In a large bowl, combine drained pineapple, grapes, banana, marshmallows and almonds
- 1 can(19oz/540ml)pineapple chunks, drained
- 2 cups seedless green grapes, halved
- 1 large banana, sliced
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 cup toasted, sliced almonds
- 2 eggs
- 2 tblsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light cream
- 1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup whipping cream

Chicken Salad with Fruits and Nuts

If you have sour cream on hand, replace half the yogurt with it to give the salad an even more luxurious feel
- 3 to 3 1/2 lb bone-in chicken pieces
- 1 small bunch flat-leaf parsley
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tblsp mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt(I use sour cream)
- 4 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 1/2 cups seedless green or red grapes, halved
- 1 large tart red apple, halved, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch dice
- 1 large ripe but firm Bartlett or Comice pear, halved, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch dice
- 1 cup pecan halves, toasted
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- NOTE: I add celery

- 1 tablespoon good olive oil
- 3 cups chopped yellow onions (3 onions)
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup canned chicken stock or broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 1/2 pounds ground chuck (81 percent lean)
- 1/2 cup plain dry bread crumbs (recommended: Progresso)
- 2 extra-large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup ketchup (recommended: Heinz)
