Casserole for a Cold Night

Brown meat and drain. Add tomato sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar and tomatoes
- 1 lb. (500 g) lean ground beef
- 7 1/2 oz. (213 g) can tomato sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 14 oz. (398 ml) can tomatoes
- 3 cups broad egg noodles, cooked and drained
- 4 oz. light cream cheese, cubed
- 1 cup sour cream (fat-free is fine)
- 6 green onions, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups grated light cheddar cheese
Chicken Provolone

1. Sprinkle chicken with pepper
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast- 4 oz
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 8 fresh basil leaves
- 4 thin slices proscuitto or deli ham
- 4 slices provolone cheese
Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Cut each tortilla into 6 pieces
- 6 small corn or 3 large flour tortillas
- 1 large onion diced
- 2 Tbsp. oil 30ml
- 4 oz.can green chilies 114ml
- finely chopped
- 10 oz. can cream of mushroom soup 284ml
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 500ml
- 2 cups grated Mozzarella cheese 500ml
- 1 cup salsa 250ml
- 3-4 cups cooked chicken, cut into 1kg
- large bited-sized pieces
Cranberry Almond Bark

Be sure to use waxed paper! I displayed it in a tall clear glass apothecary jar
- 8 Squares white Baking Chocolate (1 ounce each)
- 3 Squares semisweet chocolate (1 ounce each)
- 3/4 cup whole blanched almonds toasted
- 3/4 cup dried cranberries
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour and baking soda
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Pumpkin Blondies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 (15-ounce) can pure pumpkin puree (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup each white & butterscotch chips
- 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
Christmas Morning Wifesaver

Set 8 pieces of bread into a 9" x 13" (23 x 33 cm) buttered, glass baking dish
- 16 slices white bread, crusts
- removed
- 16 slices Canadian back bacon or
- ham
- 16 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 mL
- 1/2-1 tsp. dry mustard 2-5 mL
- 1/4 cup minced onion 60 mL
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper 60mL
- 1-2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 5-10 mL
- 3 cups milk 750 mL
- dash Tabasco
- 1/2 cup butter 125 mL
- Special K or crushed Corn Flakes
Creamed Onions

Melt butter over low heat, gradually stir in flour, salt and pepper
- 6 c frozen pearl onions (boiled according to package directions and water reserved) if you can't find frozen pearl onions, you can just use approx 8 small cooking onions peeled and cut
- 2 1/2 c half and half
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 envelope chicken bouillon
- dash hot sauce

Place the ground beef in a large bowl and use your hands to blend in the spice mixture
- 2 lbs hamburger
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp cayenne
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp oregano
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 (12oz) can evaporated milk
- 3/4 c white sugar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tsp vinegar, or as needed
Donna's Maple Dressing

This is a really good dressing for any green salad
- 4 tbsp mayo
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- salt, pepper, parsley flakes, paprika, garlic powder - to taste (about 1/4 tsp each)
