SWEET AND SOUR PORK

Dice pork in even pieces, brown on all sides and cook over low flame until done
- 2 lbs or less lean pork
- 1 clove garlic
- 3 slices ginger
- 1 large onion
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red pepper
- 1 can pineapple chunks in syrup
- 6 oz jar pickle relish
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp. corn starch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil

Cut the pork tenderloin into pieces and marinate with the ingredients for 15-20 minutes
- Marinate:
- 1/2 lb. pork tenderloin (cut into bite size pieces)
- 1/2 green bell pepper (about 2 oz. and cut into pieces)
- 1/2 red bell pepper (about 2 oz. and cut into pieces)
- 2 stalks scallions (only the white part, cut into 2 inch length)
- 1 piece fresh/canned pineapple ring (cut into small pieces)
- 1 clove garlic (finely chopped) Oil for frying.
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon corn flour
- 1/2 teaspoon rice wine
- Frying Batter:
- 1/2 cup water 2 oz. all-purpose flour
- 1 oz. corn starch
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 egg
- 1 teaspoon cooking oil
- 1 small pinch of salt
- Sweet and Sour Sauce:
- 1 1/2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 1 teaspoon plum sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon Chinese rice vinegar (transparent in color)
- 1/2 teaspoon Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon corn starch 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
Chinese Vegan Sweet and Sour Pork

BATTER : 1.First combine the flour and cornstarch in a medium-sized mixing bowl
- BATTER INGREDIENTS
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp egg replacer powder
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- just under 1/2 cup warm water
- SWEET & SOUR INGREDIENTS
- 6 vegan sausages pre-fried and chopped into chunks.
- approx 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- vegetable oil for deep frying (a few cups)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup agave
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch, premixed into a paste in a small cup, with 4 Tbsp cold water
- 1 heaped Tbsp vegan instant tomato soup powder (optional)
- 2 drops natural red food colouring
- 2 heaped Tbsp thick tomato ketchup
- 15 pineapple chunks
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice (reserved from can)
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 medium green pepper
- 1 large white onion,
- 1 red chilli (optional, if you wish to make this dish hotter)

- Pork
- 1 pound pork loin or pork butt, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 egg white
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Place cubed pork in a medium bowl with salt, and soy sauce. Mix in the egg white and green onions. Cover, and place in the refrigerator at least 1 hour. When ready to fry, Coat the pork with cornstarch (1/2 to 1 cup), and let it come to room temperature.
- Veggies
- 1 medium red or green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces (optional)
- 1 medium onion, cut into wedges
- 1-3 stalks celery, cut into 1/2 inch
- pieces
- 2 carrots cut into slices
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Stir in the celery, bell pepper, carrot, and onion, and cook until tender. Season with salt. Remove from heat, and set aside.
- Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, undrained
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
