These are my husbands favorites and one my mom still makes often.

Ingredients

  • Boil uncovered until water is absorbed
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Cream 1 c. margarine (or 1 cube butter and 1/2 c. shortening)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • Beat in 3 eggs
  • Blend in raisins
  • Add: 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Step 1

Drop by teaspoonfuls into sugar, roll into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-14 minutes. Makes 4 – 5 dozen
