If you enjoy a kick with your chicken, you can't go wrong with this slow cooker recipe seasoned with blackened Cajun seasoning and Creole butter injection.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of hot smoked Spanish paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of Cajun blackened seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Mexican oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black and white seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground chipotle
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 4-6 oz of Tony Chachere Creole Butter Injection
  • Half a white onion
  • 8-10 cloves of garlic
  • 1 whole fryer chicken

Step 1

Mix all the dry ingredients to make a rub

Stuff the chicken body cavity with half an onion and 5-6 cloves of garlic

Liberally rub chicken with Cajun seasoning

Inject creole butter into breasts, thigh and drumsticks

Tie legs together with cooking twine

Place in slower cooker breast side up, and cook on high for 2 hours, the on low for 5-7 hours, util internal chicken thermometer pops.
