A New Orleans favorite
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 7 cups bread flour
- 1/4 cup shortening
- vegetable oil
- 3 cups confectioners’ sugar.
Sausage and Cheese breakfast squares

Delicious, ad a great grab and go breakfast
- 2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls or 2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury™ refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet
- 1 lb spicy or mild bulk pork sausage
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese
- 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
- hot sauce is optional
Mom's filled cake

One of my favorite recipes when I was a kid
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 1 C sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3 C flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Solo filling, flavor of your choice
- chopped walnuts
Cranberry, Apple Cider Sangria

A holiday sangria,
- 1 750 ml. bottle red wine
- 3 cups soft apple cider (non-alcoholic)
- 1 cup unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup Triple Sec or other orange liqueur
- 1/2 cup honey* (or 1/2 cup simple syrup, made by heating equal parts of sugar and water over medium heat until dissolved)
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- sparkling water to top off
- 1 cup freshly diced red and/or green apple cubes
- cinnamon sticks for garnish
Bruschetta

A little labor intensive, but the taste is the biggest reward
- Part 1. For the Bread
- 2 Tbls olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1 Tbl fresh rosemary, chopped
- 16 slices fresh French bread cut on a diagonal
- Part 2. the topping
- 1/4 C good balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 C olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 4 C tomatoes, seeded and diced
- 1/3 C fresh basil, chopped
Outback Wedge Salad

Place lettuce wedge on a salad plate
- 1 ⁄2 head iceberg lettuce, cut into a wedge
- 1 cup grape tomatoes, cut into halves
- 1 ⁄2 cup red onion, chopped
- 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 ⁄2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
- 1 ⁄2 cup pecan pieces, toasted
- DRESSING
- 3 ⁄4 cup mayonnaise
- 3 ⁄4 cup buttermilk
- 1 ⁄2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon black pepper

- 1/2 apple, chopped
- 2 pieces cooked, crumbled bacon
- 2 Tbsp. chopped walnuts
- 2 Tbsp. gorgonzola cheese
- 1 Tbsp. thinly sliced red onion
- Creamy Golden Balsamic Dressing
- 3 Tbsp. mayo
- 1 Tbsp. light olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. golden balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp. honey

- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 C buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 Tbls cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1 oz bottle RED food coloring
Fried Pickles

- 1 c. Sliced pickles
- 1 c. panko bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp. melted butter
- 4 tbsp. finely chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
