Smashed Potato Soup

In a crock pot, combine the potatoes, bell pepper, garlic and pepper
- 3 1/2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup yellow bell pepper, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 4 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup half/half
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
