- Homemade Smoky Steak Seasoning
- 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked black pepper by McCormick (available in most large supermarkets)
- 1 teaspoon smoked sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried onion
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- OR
- 1 teaspoon of smoked sweet paprika combined with 2 tablespoons Montreal Steak Seasoning
- 1 large red bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon EVOO - Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus some for drizzling
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 red chile pepper, long or Fresno or Italian cherry pepper, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 2 cubanelle peppers, sliced lengthwise 1/4 inch thick
- 1 1/4 - to 1 1/2-pound piece flank steak, brought up to room temperature
- 4 crusty hoagie rolls, toasted

Heat large non-stick skellet over medium-high heat
- 4 tsp olive oil
- 1 ob trimmed asparagus spears
- 1/2 tsp lemon rind strips
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt
- Cream Cheese Filling:
- Beat one 250gm pkg softened cream cheese. Gradually beat in 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp. vanilla till smooth.
- Cake Batter:
- 2/3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 tsp. vanilla

- 1 pound carrots, unpeeled
- 3 tablespoons good olive oil
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt

- Base:
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. flour
- Mix together and press into bottom of 9" spring form pan.
- Filling:
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1/3 c. white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- Whip together.
- Topping:
- 4 c. sliced apple
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. slivered almond
