Spicy Sesame Noodles

By june
Cook noodles according to directions, adding broccoli for last 30 seconds
- 1 lb uncooked soba noodles or whole-wheat spaghetti
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp peanut oil
- 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp hot sauce, or more to taste
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup chopped scallions (white and green parts)
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Herb Roasted Turkey

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
- Turkey Broth:
- 1 12-16 lb turkey
- 1 large orange, cut into 1/8ths
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter at room temperature
- salt and pepper
- 1 large yellow onion, cut into 1/8ths
- 1 stalk celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 large carrot, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 sprigs rosemary
- 1/2 bunch sage
- 3 or 4 sprigs parsley
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups chicken or turkey stock, for basting
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Reserved turkey neck and giblets
- 1 large carrot, coarsely chopped
- 1 onion, coarsely chopped
- 1 large celery stalk, coarsely chopped
- 1 small bay leaf
- 3 cups turkey broth, chicken broth or canned low-salt chicken broth
- 3 cups water
- Pan Gravy:
- 4 cups turkey broth
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Date Muffins

Mix milk and egg together in a mixing bowl; add extract or Grand Marnier and orange zest
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp orange extract or vanilla extract or 1/2 tbsp Grand Marnier and zest of one orange
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, stir before measuring
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 5 tbsp butter, melted

- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (4 oz each)
- 4 tbsp butter, divided
- 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp minced fresh rosemary
Beef and Green Onion Stir-Fry

Thoroughly wash green onions
- 1 1/2 bunches green onions
- 1 lb top round steak
- 3 tbsp cornstarch, divided
- 3 tbsp lite soy sauce
- 1 medium-size red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- Peanuts (optional)
Grandma's Chocolate Pie

In a saucepan, mix cocoa, sugar, flour, salt, milk, and eggs with a whisk
- Filling Ingredients:
- 4 heaping tbsp cocoa
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 5 tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 egg yolks, beaten slightly
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp butter
- Meringue Ingredients:
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 tsp salt

Breakfast Pizza

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray
- 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- 6 oz breakfast sausage patties
- 1 cup frozen hash brown potatoes
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Korean-Style Pork and Rice

Heat oil in a large skillet over high
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 12 oz lean ground pork
- 3/4 cup finely chopped white onion
- 3/4 cup chopped green onions, divided
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tbsp gochujang sauce (such as Annie Chun's)
- 2 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar
- 2 (8.8-oz) pkg precooked brown rice (such as Uncle Ben's)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
