Broccoli Salad

Rinse broccoli and drain. Toss cheese bacon and onions together with broccoli
- 1 bunch broccoli - flowers only
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 lb cooked bacon crumbled
- 1 small diced onion
- dressing
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp vinegar
Soul Sweet 'Taters

Directions Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
- 4 medium sweet potatoes (about 1 3/4 pounds)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
Raspberry Cake Bars

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- 1 * 1 package (18-ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough, softened (recommended: Pillsbury)
- 3/4 * 3/4 teaspoon lemon extract
- 1/2 * 1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam
- 1/4 * 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Guinness Beef Stew

Adjust oven rack to lower middle position and heat oven to 325
- 1 (3 1/2 to 4 lb ) bottomless beef church-eye roast, pulled apart at seams and
- cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
- salt and pepper
- 3 tbsp oil
- 2 onions chopped fine
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 1/4 cups guinness drought
- 1 1/2 tbsp packed dark brown sugar
- 1 tsp minced fresh thyme
- 1 1/2 pounds yukon gold potatoes, unpeeled, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 tbsp fresh minced parsley
- NOTE
- Do not use guinness extra stout, which is too bitter
Fresh Green Beans, One Way

Snap the stem ends of green beans, or cut them off in a big bunch with a knife if you’d like
- 1 lb green beans
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons bacon grease (can substitute 1 T butter and 1 T olive oil)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt (can substitute regular table salt; use 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon)
- Ground black pepper

- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
