  • 2 c. frozen red tart cherries
  • 1 ½ c. sugar
  • ¼ c. corn starch
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/8 t. salt
  • 1/8 t. almost flavoring (optional)

Step 1

Blend sugar, salt and cornstarch in saucepan; add water and stir to mix ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly; remove from heat when mixture begins to thicken. Add cherries and stir until well blended. Pour into pastry shell. Brush the top crust with milk and lightly sprinkle with sugar. Bake a top-crusted pie for 50 min. at 350.
