Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound(s) ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and cut in wedges (3 cups)
  • sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, divided
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup corn oil
  • 1/3 cup milk

Step 1

In medium bowl mix together peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Turn into 10x6x2-inch baking dish. Dot with margarine. In small bowl mix together flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder, salt and remaining 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Add corn oil and milk. Stir until moistened. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto peach mixture. Bake in 400 degree oven 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 6 servings.
