Smoked Asparagus

A great way to add a smokey twist to asparagus. Your family will love this Smoked Asparagus recipe, it's really good!
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons freshly-squeezed lemon juice
- 1/16 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly-sliced
- 1 1/2 pounds asparagus, trimmed

Step 1
Load the wood tray with one small handful of wood chips and preheat Master built smoker to 225°F.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan, stir in the garlic and cook over low heat until garlic is just tender, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and mix in the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Arrange the onions in a medium-size baking dish. Spread asparagus spears over the onions. Drizzle the butter and garlic mixture over the asparagus.
Place the uncovered baking dish on the top grate of the preheated smoker. Smoke until asparagus is tender, about 1 ½ to 2 hours.
