Banana Split Twinkie Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box Twinkies (10 count)
  • 1 (3 oz) box instant strawberry creme pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, separated
  • 1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Fisher nut topping or toasted pecans
  • 10-12 maraschino cherries or strawberries slices

Preparation

Step 1

Line a 8 x 8 inch baking pan with 9 Twinkies. Line the pan with 5 Twinkies on one side and the remaining 4 on the other.

In a large bowl, mix together one package of pudding with 1 1/2 cups cold milk until combined (I used a wire whisk). Fold in 1/2 cup whipped topping and blend.

Spread the strawberry pudding mixture evenly over the Twinkies to cover. Add banana slices and spread crushed pineapple over bananas.

Top with remaining whipped topping and spread evenly. Add maraschino cherries (drain on a paper towel to remove juices) and nuts for garnish. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Servings: 6-8

Cooks Note: This recipe can easily be doubled to make a 9 x 13 inch pan.
