Preparation

Step 1

1 recipe of Never Fail Pie Crust rolled into a rectangle

Roll up in crust:
6 cups apples, chopped
1/3 cup sugar - sprinkled on apples
Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste

Cut off in rings to make 12.

In 13 x 9-inch pan combine:
2 cups water
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine

Dissolve and put apple rings on top. Bake at 350deg for 45 minutes or until done.

NEVER FAIL PIE CRUST:
1 cup vegetable shortening
1 tablespoon sugar
1 egg, well beaten
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
½ cup cold water

Mix flour, shortening, sugar and salt. Add egg to water. Add mixture, a little at a time until all ingredients are moist. Mold together with hands.

Chill before rolling out. You can store in refrigerator for 2 weeks.
