Ingredients

  • 4 T melted butter
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c milk
  • 2 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • evaporated milk

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients together and line a large greased utility pan like pie crust, only thicker. Dough will be soft so you might like to use your hands. With your fingers, make a lip-like edge around the pan. Place apple slices over the top, then add 2 beaten eggs with 3/4 evaporated milk. Pour over the top. Add a layer of 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon. Using fresh apples is best.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 for finishing 15 minutes more till golden brown.

Note:
Double recipe makes 1 large cookie sheet and 2 cans of sliced apples
