Pineapple Ham (Jamon con Pina)

A delicious recipe for canned ham that is perfect for the Holidays or your next party!
Ingredients
- 1 canned ham, about 2 pounds
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can (16 ounce) pineapple slices
- 1 cup red cooking wine
- 5 oranges, juiced
- 1/2 can beer
- Marachino cherries
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- Whole cloves
- 1 pound dark sugar
- 1 cup dark sugar

Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Meanwhile, If canned ham has gelatin, scrape it off with the back of a knife.
Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the ham, add the orange juice, bay leaf and put to boil on high heat.
Once water boils, add the ham and continue to boil for 10 minutes.
Turn off stove, remove ham and put in glass or metal baking pan. Throw out the water.
In a bowl, mix together the beer, wine, pineapple juice, 1 pound dark sugar and pour over the ham.
With a sharp knife, make 1 inch diagonal lines to make diamond shapes all around ham.
Put a cloves in between each diamond.
Put ham in preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Remove ham and decorate with pineapple slices and cherries. (attach with wooden toothpicks.)
Sprinkle ham all around with remaining brown sugar and put back in oven for another 10 or 15 minutes, until brown sugar melts and looks shiny and glazed.
