Red Velvet Bread Pudding

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- Red Velvet Cake:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, at room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 ounces red food coloring
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- Bread Pudding Mix:
- 3 cups half-and-half
- 3 large eggs
- 1 large egg yolk
- Pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving

- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
- 3 to 4 cooking apples
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- 1 to 3 tbsp milk
- 1 to 3 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)

- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups water
- Sugar (about 4 cups, see cooking instructions)
- Salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
- Equipment Needed
- 1 wide 8-quart pan (Stainless steel or copper with stainless steel lining)
- A food mill or a chinois sieve
- A large (8 cup) measuring cup pourer

- 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow or chocolate cake mix
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla or French vanilla or chocolate pudding and pie-filling mix
- 3/4 cup Irish whiskey or Bourbon, divided
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 4 Jumbo or extra large eggs, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp lemon juice

- coarse sanding or turbinado sugar for sprinkling
BBQ White Beans with Peppers

1. Slice two rings from sweet pepper; wrap and refrigerate
- 1 medium green sweet pepper
- 4 oz. cooked ham, cut in strips
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 15-oz. cans cannellini beans (white kidney beans) and/or navy beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 Tbsp. yellow mustard
- 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Crushed red pepper (optional)
- Fresh oregano leaves (optional)
