Ingredients

  • Mary Reaver’s Tomato Basil Tart
  • 1 deep dish pie crust, baked
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4-5 medium tomatoes, sliced thinly (I would drain or pat them dry if they're really juicy)
  • 10 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise (I used light mayo)

Step 1



Bake pie crust per package directions. Immediately sprinkle pie crust with ¾ cup mozzarella cheese (provides melted layer on bottom so crust won't get soggy). Layer sliced tomatoes and chopped basil (at least 2 layers). Combine garlic, 1 ½ cups mozzarella, parmesan and mayo – spread on top of layered tomatoes. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve warm.
