Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
- 2 cups cremini mushrooms, chopped
- 1 can tomato paste, no salt added (156 ml)
- 1 can crushed tomatoes, no salt added (796 ml)
- 1 tbsp. date paste
- 1/2 tbsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 sweet pointed red pepper, chopped

Preparation
Step 1
1. Add a splash of water to pan and water sautee garlic, onion and mushroom over high heat until they start to become tender.
2. Add remaining ingredients except for sweet red pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce and simmer uncovered over low heat for 30 minutes, allowing flavours to come together. Add sweet red pepper in last 10 minutes, so they are still slightly firm. Serve over brown rice noodles.
