Bacon Beer Cheese Soup w/ chicken

Ingredients
- 6 slices thick cut bacon
- 1 lb. Boneless skinless chicken breast
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp. Garlic powder
- 2 tsp. Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. Smoked paprika
- 1 tsp. Kosher salt
- 1 tsp. Pepper
- 1 cup wheat beer
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 cups half and half
- 8 oz. Shredded mild cheddar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Chives
- Croutons
Details
Preparation
Step 1
Fry cut bacon in soup pot until lightly crispy.
Remove and set aside.
Cut chicken in to bite sized pieces.
Cook in bacon drippings and set aside.
Cut butter in to 1 tbsp pieces and add to drippings. Whisk in flour and spices.
Add beer broth and half and half.
Whisk to bubble.
Add cheese and whisk till you have smooth mixture.
Add Worcestershire sauce, chicken and bacon.
Allow to simmer.
Garnish with croutons and chives.
