Ham and Potato Soup

Think and creamy and delicious. Add some cornbread for a great meal.
Ingredients
- 3 Large Potatoes
- 1 Cup Celery, Diced
- 1 Cup Onion, Finely Chopped
- 1 Cup Ham, Diced
- 3 1/2 Cups of Water
- 3 Chicken Bouillon Cubes
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper
- 5 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
- 9 Tbsp Flour
- 2 1/4 Cups Half and Half

Step 1
Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham and water in a stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the chicken bouillon cubes, salt and pepper.
In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork or wire whisk, and cook, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in half and half so that the lumps do not form. Continue stirring over medium-low heat until thick. Normally between 4 and 5 minutes.
Stir the half and half mixture into the stock pot, and cook until heated through. Serve it while it is hot.
