Garlic Scape Pesto

Look for garlic scapes at your local farmer's market. This delicious garlicky pesto is great tossed with pasta. Serve warm or cold.

Ingredients
- 8 ounces garlic scapes
- 1 ounce fresh basil
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan Romano cheese blend
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Preparation
Step 1
Chop the garlic scapes into one inch pieces. Add scapes, basil, lemon juice, cheese walnuts, salt and pepper to food processor and blend until finely ground. Gradually drizzle olive oil while processing until it reaches a smooth consistency. Store in an air tight container for up to four days or freeze for up to 3 months.
