Beer-Braised Beef

Ingredients
- 3 Turkey Bacon strips-cooked & diced
- 2 lbs Beef Stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp canola oil
- 1 medium onion, cut into wedges
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can (12 oz) Beer or Non Alcoholic Beer
- 1 TBSP Soy Sauce
- 1 TBSP Worchestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp dried Thyme
- 2 TBSP Arrowroot Powder OR Cornstarch OR Flour
- 1/4 C water
- Hot Cooked Noodles (Optional - not on plan)

Preparation
Step 1
Sprinkle beef with salt & pepper. In a large skillet, brown beef on all
sides, drain.
Transfer to a 5 qrt slow cooker. Add bacon, onion, garlic & bay leaf. In a
small bowl, combine the beer, soy sauce, worchestershire sauce & thyme. Pour
over beef mixture.
Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or til meat is tender.
In a small bowl, combine flour & water til smooth. Gradually stir into slow
cooker. Cover & cook on high for 30 minutes longer or til thickened. Discard
bay leaf. Serve beef with noodles.
