Homemade Wheat Crackers

These thin homemade wheat crackers are a great teatime snack. They also make for a perfect after-school snack kids enjoy.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 teaspoons golden syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Turmeric powder, a pinch
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Sea salt, to taste
- Black Pepper Powder, to taste

Step 1
Mix the wheat flour, sugar, salt and turmeric powder in a bowl.
Add the olive oil and mix again.
Add the golden syrup and water.
Mix to a smooth dough.
Make small balls of the dough and roll them out into thin 1×1-inch squares (or circles).
Place them onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Prick each cracker with a fork and drizzle with some olive oil on top.
Sprinkle sea salt and pepper powder on top.
Place the tray in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C)
Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
Remove, cool and store them in a clean, sterilized jar.
Serve as teatime snack.
