Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder meat removed from the bone
  • 1 tbs light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp anise seed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp meyer lemon peel
  • 2 slices of bacon

Preparation

Step 1

Bag all ingredients and cook at 160F for 24 hours. Remove and discard bacon. Strain and reserve bag liquid. Finish in cast iron and use for pulled pork sandwiches, burritos, pizza, omelettes, or eat it a la carte. If you want to get really crazy, throw some on top of a burger with a little bbq sauce.
