Ingredients
- 9 -inch double pie crust, one is for decorative shapes
- confectioners sugar, to garnish shapes
- 1 (16 oz) can pumpkin - not pumpkin pie filling
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. each groung nutmeg and cloves
- 3 large eggs lightly beaten
- 1 +1/2 cups half and half
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation
Step 1
preheat oven to 400F
using one of the pie crusts, cut into 35 decorative shapes like leaves. moisten enough leaves on one side to line the rim of the pie shell. set aside. place remaining leaves on a baking sheet and bake until golden, about 6 minutes. dust with confectioners sugar, let cool and set aside.
in a large bowl, combine pumpkin, and brown sugar, mix until well blended. stir in the spices, then eggs until blended. gradually add half and half and vanilla, and blend well. pour into unbaked pie shell. place on a baking sheet. bake until set about 40-45 minutes.
let cool and decorate with pastry shapes.
