Southern Style Creamed Corn

A Southern favorite side dish
- 2 (12 oz) bags frozen whole kernel corn (I used Great Value)
- 3 - 4 tablespoons salted butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 4 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Crumbled bacon or real bacon bits, optional
Easy One-Pot Hamburger Stroganoff

Quick and easy weeknight meal that the whole family will love
- 1 pound lean ground beef (I used 93/7)
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning, or more to taste
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can Campbell's beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 4 cups egg noodles, uncooked (I used "wide")
- 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (I used dried)
New Potatoes in White Sauce

- 3 pounds red new potatoes, peeled or scraped, then cut into 1 to 1 1/2" chunks (leave whole if small)
- 2 cups whole milk or half-and-half
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 5 tablespoons margarine or salted butter
Chocolate Mint Shamrock Milkshakes

Cool, refreshing treat for St
- Vanilla ice cream (2-3 cups, depending on desired thickness)
- 1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Milk as desired for consistency (I used about 1/2 cup)
- 10 drops liquid green food coloring, optional
- Whipped cream and maraschino cherry, for garnish
- NOTE~ You could substitute Andes mint chips for the semi-sweet, and reducing or omitting the extract. (Could even use Chocolate Chip Mint ice cream.)
Chocolate Swirled Biscuits

Chocolaty and not very sweet, these homemade biscuits are perfect for breakfast with a cup of fresh, hot coffee
- Biscuit Dough:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
- 3/4 cup milk
- Filling:
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
Maple-Bacon Upside-Down Biscuits

Biscuits with an ooey, gooey, candied bacon topping
- 9 frozen biscuits (I used Mary B's brand)
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup real maple syrup (not pancake syrup)
- 2 tablespoons reserved bacon fat
Shrimp & Vegetable Stir Fry

Frozen (or fresh) shrimp and fresh veggies are sauteed in butter and seasonings then served with rice of choice
- 1 (12-ounce) package frozen large shrimp, thawed, peeled, and de-veined
- 1 stalk fresh broccoli, cut into bite-size florets
- 1 small onion, coarsely chopped, about 1/2 cup
- 1 red bell pepper, coarsely chopped, about 2/3 cup
- 4 large mushrooms, cut in quarters or thick slices
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- Garlic salt, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds, optional

- 1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 (12-ounce) bag white chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons oil, divided
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure peppermint extract, divided
- 4 standard size peppermint candy canes, crushed
Moist Coconut Pound Cake

The BEST coconut cake ever! It has the most tender crumb that just melts in your mouth
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cups) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 3/4 cup canned unsweetened coconut milk
- 4 to 5 tablespoons unsweetened desiccated coconut, finely shredded (dried coconut)
Broccoli Cheese Cornbread

- 2 (6 oz) packages Martha White's Gladiola yellow cornbread mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 (8 oz) container small curd cottage cheese
- 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese, divided (I used mild)
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) margarine or salted butter (I used margarine)
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup chopped fresh broccoli florets
