Janet Ann Proctor Brawner's Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3 c. flour + 1/4 c.
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 c. + 1/3 c. crisco
- 1/2 c. buttered flavor crisco
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 t. vanilla
- 1 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 chopped pecans (optional)
Corn Meal Muffins (Homestead)

- 3/4 c. Shawnee Best Yellow Corn Meal Mix
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 T. sugar
- 1/2 c, milk
- 1 egg
- 3 T. oil
- Variations: Add 1 cup grated cheese or 1/3 c. finely chopped onion to muffin batter

- 1/4 stick shortening

- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 2 cups chopped, mixed, dried, and candied fruit that has been macerated and soaked in rum for least 2 weeks
