- 2 1/4 pounds green cabbage, core removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup vertically sliced yellow onion
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 cups carrots, cut into ribbons
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons habanero hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon butter
Basic Balsamic Vinagrette

- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp water
- salt/pepper
