Chocolate granola bars

This is a great basic granola bar recipe. You can add a variety of nuts, chips and dried fruits to this basic recipe to make different flavors of granola bars.
Ingredients
- 2 cups oats
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (I used Hershey's chocolate syrup)
- 1/4 cup honey
- Chopped almonds
- Chopped walnuts
- Chopped dried strawberries
- Chopped peanuts
- Butterscotch chips

Step 1
Mix oats, flour and baking soda in a bowl. Take another bowl and mix butter and chocolate syrup. Take your time to mix the butter and chocolate syrup. I used a hand whisk to mix. Add honey to this mixture. Stir in dried fruits, peanuts and butterscotch nuts. Add the oats, flour and baking soda mixture to this and mix well.
Apply butter to a baking tray and transfer this mixture to it. Flatten the granola mix and with the help of a spatula shape it in a square.
Bake in an oven at 350°F for 15 minutes. Let it cool and then cut the granola mix into bars.
