Easy Mongolian Beef

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • Beef steak
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Slice beef in thin strips at a slight angle so it will stay together when cooking
Set aside

In a ziplock bag:
Add cornstarch, soy sauce, & Hoisin sauce
Zip bag and knead it to mix the soy sauce.
Then add beef slices
Let it rest for 10 minutes so it will marinate

In a frying pan, add oil, ginger and garlic
Cook until mixture boils
Add soy sauce and water
Melt in brown sugar
Boil for 2-3 minutes then set aside

In a separate pan, add oil & beef slices
Cook until almost done, then drain

Return beef to heat and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes then add
Green onions

Serve over white rice
