Roasted Chicken with Garlic-Balsamic Sauce

Let the chicken stand at room temperature for 45 minutes
- 1 chicken, about 4 lb.
- Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 8 fresh thyme sprigs
- 6 garlic cloves
- 3⁄4 lb. baby carrots
- 3⁄4 lb. baby turnips
- 1⁄4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 2 to 3 tsp. balsamic vinegar

Step One Spray the slow cooker with Pam
- 1 Package of Frozen Hash Browns
- 1 Pound of Cooked Sausage
- 2 Cups of Colby Jack Cheese, shredded
