- 8 oz. fresh asparagus spears, trimmed, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup sliced roasted red bell peppers (from a jar)
- 2 oz. (1/2 cup) shredded fresh Asiago or Parmesan cheese

In a large wok or frying pan on medium-high heat, add peanut oil
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil or vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 pounds small Brussels sprouts, washed, ends trimmed, then bulbs cut into halves
- 3 tablespoons mirin (Japanese rice wine)
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 7 to 8 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- Toasted sesame oil
