- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup shortening
- 5 egg yolks
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanill
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 5 egg whites
- 1 small can coconut

- 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine*
- 1 teaspoon clear vanilla
- 4 cups sifted confectioner's sugar (aproximately 1 lb)
- 2 tablespoons milk**
