Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 3 carrots, diced
  • 2 c. chopped cabbage
  • 2 16 oz can tomatoes
  • 1 c. whole kernel corn
  • 1/4 c. rice, or pasta
  • 4 to 6 c. water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 to 3 tsp salt
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • Pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In a large pan brown ground beef and onion. Drain. Add remaining ingredients. Soup should not be too thick so add more water if needed. Bring to a boil. Lower heat, and simmer about 1 to 1 ½ hours. Remove bay leaf and serve.

Slow Cooker: Brown ground beef and onions. Combine with remaining ingredients in slow cooker and simmer on low all day.
