London broil teriyaki

Ingredients

  • 1- 1/4 lb boneless top round, about 1 in thick
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 t. finely chopped ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced scallions

Preparation

Step 1

preheat broiler to high.. in small pan combine soy, sugar,ginger and garlic, stirring til sugar dissolved..remove 1/2 cup sauce for basting.
place meat on racki of broiler pan.. brushing with sauce.
broil 4 inches from heat for 10 min. turn and baste.. broil an additional 5-6 min ..
mix cornstarch with water and add to marinade in pan..bring to boil stirring constantly.. reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally til thickened..
let steak stank for 5 mins..slice diagonally across grain..
stir scallkions into sace and serve with steak
