Again, this recipe is from the kitchen of the famous Kennedy family. I love these cookies because they are flat and you can really get a bite of that fantastic chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 6 sticks soft butter
  • 1 3/4 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 cups chocolate chips

Step 1

Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter with the brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda and 2 tablespoons water. Blend well. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand until evenly distributed. Refrigerate the dough until you're ready to bake.

preheat oven to 350* Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. You'll need to bake the cookies in batches.

Drop by teaspoons and space them 2" apart. Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
