Ingredients
- 3 3 3 Tbs Olive Oil
- 1 1 1 medium onion
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup finely shredded carrots
- 2 2 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 1 1 - can tomato sauce
- 1 1 1 - can diced tomatoes
- 1 6 1 6 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 2-1/2 2-1/2 2-1/2 cans water (tomato paste cans)
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 C dry red wine
- 1 1 1 tsp salt
- 1 1 1 Tbs oregano
- 1 1 1 tsp pepper
- 1 1 1 tsp sugar
- 2 2 2 Bay leaves
- 1 1 1 package sliced pepperoni or turkey pepperoni (quartered)
- 1 1 1-1/2 package meatballs (alternatively 1-1/2 pounds hamburger browned)
Preparation
Step 1
Brown onion (and hamburger if using) in a large skillet, drain and add to a large soup pot. Add remaining ingredients, heat to boiling stirring occasionally, reduce heat and simmer 2-1/2 hrs uncovered stirring occasionally. If it thickens too much, add some additional water.
