  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Directions

Bring sugar and 1 cup water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat, and cook, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Let cool completely.

Variation: Add slices of fresh ginger or strips of citrus peel at the end of boiling and stirring to dissolve sugar. Before storing, strain and discard solids. Store in a syrup container like in a resturant.
