  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 sticks (1 c.) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/4 c. packed light-brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c. old-fashioned oats
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Have two large nonstick baking sheets at the ready. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a bowl. In a large bowl, beat butter and both kinds of sugar until creamy, about 3 minutes. Beat in eggs and vanilla. On low speed, beat in flour mixture, and then stir in oats, raisins and chocolate chips. Dollop 1/4-cupfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheets. Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 17 minutes. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
