- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Additional granulated sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 375°F. Remove wrappers from chocolates.
Sift together the flour, soda, and salt. Cream together butter, peanut butter, and gradually add sugar and brown sugar, creaming well. Add unbeaten egg and vanilla, beat well. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually, and mix thoroughly. Shape into balls using a rounded teaspoon. Roll balls in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes. Remove sheet from oven and put candy kiss on each cookie, pressing down firmly. Return to oven for 2-5 minutes, until golden brown.
