Ingredients

  • 4-5 Honeycrisp apples peeled, cored and roughly chopped
  • 3/4 c orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 c lightly packed brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a low boil over medium heat, stirring often.

Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender. (about 25 minutes)

Let cool for 5 minutes and them mash with a potato masher.

Enjoy plain or on top of ice cream, oatmeal, yogurt, ect.

**Different apples can be used for different flavors or even pears may be added or used.**
