Herb Rice in the rice cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked brown or white rice
  • 2 cups water (or the 2 cup line in your rice cooker)
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 1/4 onion chopped or minced
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp basil
  • 1/4 tsp marjoram

Step 1

Rinse rice and let sit in water for at least 20 minutes. Drain it.
Put rice and all other ingredients in your rice cooker. Set it for the length time for the amount and type of rice you are cooking.

My Aroma rice cooker has a brown rice setting that I use when cooking brown rice. Brown rice will take a lot longer to cook; but it's way better for you and tastes great with this recipe. The total time shown to make this is for brown rice. It will take a lot less time if you use white rice (basmati is a good choice).
