Chocolate Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2-1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 T sugar, plus 2 tsp cinnamon (or to taste)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream the shortening, butter, and sugar; add eggs and cream again.

Blend dry ingredients together, (except the 2 T sugar and cinnamon) Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Mix well.

Shape dough in balls and roll in sugar mixture. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10-12 minutes. Let set on sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
